Pavilion Tavern: The Verdict

Thursday 23rd June will go down in musical folklore as the first time the mighty Left Hand Red played Brighton!! At just 24 hours notice (yes, that’s right, 24 hours) we agreed to step in and play our inaugural gig in the city. The Pavilion Tavern were short one band for their weekly new-band showcase so they gave us a call, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Full of enthusiasm and confidence following our success at the Good Companions just five days before, we played an impressive seven song set. This included frenetic We Are The Youth, which had never been played live before, and also firm favourites from our four-track CD.

To say that we rocked the house would be an understatement, and to say that we blew the other bands away would merely be stating the bloomin’ obvious!! So we are extremely grateful to all of you who came to support us at such short notice. You outnumbered and out-cheered the other bands fans by a significant margin… you guys ROCK!!

If you don’t believe just how good it was, take a look at these comments from the LHR message board:

"it was AMAZING! We are the Youth is definitely up there with See it Coming! All your songs have depth and meaning" – thegangat69

"You guys were awesome last night. Two thumbs up! I think you got the best reception out of the three bands. Well done!" – wallawalla

"I thought the gig at the pav tav was fantastic! You were definitely the best band of the night" – Hannah
