AmEx Battle of the Bands

Wednesday 16th saw Left Hand Red compete in the American Express Battle of the Bands at the Concorde 2 in Brighton. Five bands each played a 20-minute set, with the exception of samba-combo Bacalou who played for half-an-hour because no-one was willing to drag them off the stage.

LHR, fourth on, opened their set with new song, Clockwork, a stomping disco-punk tune that won immediate appreciation from fans old and new. The slower tunes were dropped in favour of more energetic songs, including old favourites We Are the Youth and See it Coming.

The competition was won by Woteva, who received more votes than each of the other acts (i.e. they brought the most friends and family members with them!).

Left Hand Red’s set was as follows:

  • Clockwork
  • Against the Grain
  • Kill the Mystery
  • We Are the Youth
  • See it Coming

The band’s next appearance is at Polar Central, Queens Road, Brighton, supporting Southampton group Dead! Dead! Dead!.
