Last chance to see… for now
Well, it’s been a whirlwind couple of weeks for Left Hand Red (by our standards). It all kicked off on Sunday 26th Feb with a low-key but well-attended appearance at the East Slope Bar at Sussex Uni, where we kicked ass, to put it bluntly.
This was followed up later that week by what band and fans alike agree to be our best gig yet — a headlining appearance at the Pressure Point’s Cable Club (Thursday 2nd March). The gig pulled an excellent crowd, who dished out their appreciation in spades. The 45-minute set featured a wide range of material, and included thunderous renditions of existing favourites like Clockwork. It also included a debut for the universally praised Midnight Sun, which attracted the biggest applause, cheers and whoops of the night.
Next up was a special-guest headline slot at a charity-type-gig at the Conservative Club in Newhaven, East Sussex (Saturday 4th March), the band’s spiritual home (sort of). The band blasted through a raucous set that culminated in an encore — the ever-popular We Are the Youth, complete with mosh-pit and crowd-surfing!
So, that brings up to the present, and our fourth gig in just over a fortnight. Tomorrow (Monday 13th March) sees Left Hand Red supporting Dead! Dead! Dead! at the Freebutt (map) in Brighton. Also supporting on Monday are Morning Stardust and The Dials. It’s going to be our last gig in Brighton for a few weeks, so be sure to catch us!
We’re definitely seeing more and more new faces at each gig, so a big thanks to everyone who checked us out for the first time recently, and an even bigger thanks to those who come back time and time again. And for those of you who come along tomorrow, thanks in advance, and make sure you come and say “Hi”.
