Left Hand Red Get First Airplay

Yesterday evening, some time around 20:15, the demo of Clockwork (download from the ‘Music’ page) received a play on the Damo and Ace show on Brighton’s Juice 107.2 station, which regularly plays music by and holds interviews with local bands.

The song received plenty of praise, along with a flurry of enthusiastic messages sent in to the show and a healthy plug for tonight’s (Tuesday) gig at The Hope.

LHR Finish Second in Brighton Battle

It’s all over! The final of the Best of Brighton Bands competition, run by MusoNet, took place last night (Sunday) at the Pressure Point in Brighton, and saw Left Hand Red beaten only by the mighty rock-juggernaut that is Stealbackyourlife.

Although Stealbackyourlife walked away with the spoils, it was an awesome gig all round with three of the bands topping their heat scores in front of a capacity crowd. Oh, and Oli of Go Johnny Go fame also walked away with a special prize of a new guitar!

The scores aren’t currently available, but we’ll post them when they are.

LHR Reach Best of Brighton Bands Final

That’s right! We’re through to the final of the Best of Brighton Bands competition!

It was an excellent night, and despite some mid-song technical troubles that threatened to put a downer on things, we were given the fourth highest score over the four heats, meaning a place in the final awaits. This was by far the strongest heat so far, with three of the four bands taking final spots and one achieving the highest score by a country mile.

The scores (out of 100) for heat 4 were as follows:

Band Score
Mono 51.00
Left Hand Red 75.50
Your Army 76.75
Stealbackyourlife 92.75

The final leaderboard of all bands over four heats is as follows:
