That’s right, drum-monkey Russell is back from his travels to exotic lands, many and wondrous.
Having just dropped in from the States with a Union Flag parachute on his back, Russell made an appearance at the Hare and Hounds gig on Saturday 24th, before being dragged on stage for an unplanned encore of Midnight Sun. Despite not having played for three months, he did us all proud.
Of course, Russell’s return also marks the end of Dan O’Driscoll’s spell with the band. We’d like to thank him for all his efforts! We’re sad to see him go, but he is already working with another band and we wish him the best of luck.

Rock Riot is back this Friday, this time causing a nuisance at the Pressure Point on Richmond Place, Brighton.
The line-up features Left Hand Red as headliners, with Paris Bianco and Arty Karate as evil sidekicks. Doors open at 8pm, and entry is £5. Get yourself down early, and you might even bag a free CD.
Rock Riot is a recurring event held in no particular regularity by Left Hand Red and their closest associates. Each event has featured hand-picked bands to ensure no daft haircut-wielding, rock-by-numbers poseurs, with Left Hand Red headlining to bring the evening to a raucous finish.

Yesterday evening, some time around 20:15, the demo of Clockwork (download from the ‘Music’ page) received a play on the Damo and Ace show on Brighton’s Juice 107.2 station, which regularly plays music by and holds interviews with local bands.
The song received plenty of praise, along with a flurry of enthusiastic messages sent in to the show and a healthy plug for tonight’s (Tuesday) gig at The Hope.

We’ve made a smart little addition to the website — Gravatars (short for globally recognized avatar).
Gravatars are custom pictures that will appear next to your comments on any site that supports them. To set your custom Gravatar, sign up at gravatar.com using the same email address you used to sign up with the LHR site, and upload your image. And that’s it!
Feel free to leave a comment to try yours out.

Left Hand Red will be playing a 30 minute acoustic set this coming Sunday 21st January at the Pav Tav, Brighton. We’ll be on at 8:30pm for 30 minutes and entry is free. This is our first ever acoustic gig and looks set to be completely different to our usual gigs. Yes, yes, yes, gone will be the full on indie-punk, head-fucking rock and roll and crazy arsed dancing. For one night only this will be Left Hand Red as you’ve never seen them before! Stripped down (musically you perverts) and chilled, the perfect remedy for all you hungover kiddies.
So roll up, roll up, come along for a great end to your weekends.
Also playing on the night will be Michael Lord, Will Munn and Chris Austwick.
LHR x
P.S. We’ll have a few copies of our new demo E.P. with us on the night so anyone interested can have one for (you may want to sit down before you read the next part) FREE!!!!

Happy New Year from Left Hand Red! We’re set to start 2007 as we mean to go on. The new demo CD, entitled Through These Windows is just about ready to come out of the oven, and a redesigned website is now underway (if anything looks a bit funny over the coming weeks, that’ll be why).
Look out for downloadable, iPoddable, huggable versions of the new tracks soon, or if you don’t have the patience, for lower-quality streaming versions visit our MySpace profile.
