Through These Windows

Through These Windows is the name of our latest demo, which is now finished!

The tracklisting contains songs that regular Left Hand Red gig-goers should recognise, as follows:

  1. Clockwork
  2. Midnight Sun
  3. Against the Grain
  4. Out of Focus

Look out for CDs of the demo at our upcoming gigs. You can also listen to streamed versions of the demos on our MySpace profile. We’ll also have downloadable versions of the tracks up on the Music page soon.

Left Hand Red In Chilled Out Gig Shocker!

Left Hand Red will be playing a 30 minute acoustic set this coming Sunday 21st January at the Pav Tav, Brighton. We’ll be on at 8:30pm for 30 minutes and entry is free. This is our first ever acoustic gig and looks set to be completely different to our usual gigs. Yes, yes, yes, gone will be the full on indie-punk, head-fucking rock and roll and crazy arsed dancing. For one night only this will be Left Hand Red as you’ve never seen them before! Stripped down (musically you perverts) and chilled, the perfect remedy for all you hungover kiddies.

So roll up, roll up, come along for a great end to your weekends.

Also playing on the night will be Michael Lord, Will Munn and Chris Austwick.

LHR x

P.S. We’ll have a few copies of our new demo E.P. with us on the night so anyone interested can have one for (you may want to sit down before you read the next part) FREE!!!!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from Left Hand Red! We’re set to start 2007 as we mean to go on. The new demo CD, entitled Through These Windows is just about ready to come out of the oven, and a redesigned website is now underway (if anything looks a bit funny over the coming weeks, that’ll be why).

Look out for downloadable, iPoddable, huggable versions of the new tracks soon, or if you don’t have the patience, for lower-quality streaming versions visit our MySpace profile.

Photos from last night

Through the witchcraft of the Internet and other such black magic you can see for yourself how hard Left Hand Red were rocking at The Hope.

Left Hand Red Are Evolving

That’s right children, LHR are currently working their fingers to to the bone on all sorts of different things. Along with our explosion of gigs around the Brighton area, we’re hard at work on new tracks, new recordings and a new look to this site. Some of you eagle-eyed, LHR stalwarts may have already noticed some new features so keep your eyes peeled for more changes in the coming weeks.

The long awaited Through These Windows Demo E.P. is also nearing completion with two new tracks, Out Of Focus and Midnight Sun due on these shores real soon.

As I mentioned earlier, we have a current explosion of gigs around Brighton town so get your arses along to one sharpish because in the coming months, that front row spot maybe increasingly harder to get to :-)

August BrightonWaves Now Available

August’s BrightonWaves show is now live, meaning you can hear Clockwork right now! Left Hand Red have been chosen to close the show, which also features seven other Brighton bands like Magic Bullet Band, Faces for Radio and Target.

Hear Clockwork on BrightonWaves

Our new demo is nearing completion, and you will be able to hear the fruits of our labour in August’s BrightonWaves podcast! The August show features the new demo of Clockwork, already a fan favourite and now you can hear it from the comfort of your own home.

BrightonWaves showcases some of Brighton’s best unsigned talent, and is available as monthly podcast or for individual listening on the website. I highly recommend subscribing to the podcast, as it’s an excellent way to discover new local music and to hear who’s playing where in the Brighton area.

You don’t need to have an iPod to listen to podcasts, or any other MP3 player for that matter. There’s plenty of software that you can use to subscribe to the podcast and download the episodes automatically as they are released. I recommend iTunes or Juice.

A Summer (Not) Wasting

It’s been rather quiet around here of late, but don’t despair—we’re still here, working especially hard on… well, you’ll just have to see!

Don’t forget to keep an eye on the messageboard where news tends to pop up first, and you can keep up to date any Left Hand Red goings on.

Snap the Red

Tomorrow night is Rock Brighton night at the Engine Room, and we’ve got the headline slot! We hope to see you all there whether you got on the guest list or not.

If you’re going along (or to any of our other gigs), why not take your camera along and take some shots of the band? Upload ‘em to Flickr (registration is free) and tag them as ‘lefthandred’, and they’ll appear on the little montage thing underneath the menu on the right-hand side of the site. We’d love to see your photos, and might post the best on the Picture Gallery page.

Message boards back up

During a period of festive weirdness, the Left Hand Red message boards were a bit on the broken side. The good news is, after a little upgrade, they’re now up and running. Go on, get posting!

Oh yes, and Happy New Year!
