Summer means plenty of long, warm evenings, so why not spend them watching Left Hand Red? We’re keeping ourselves extremely busy when we’re not drinking chilled Pimms and eating fresh strawberries and cream, with visits to Camden, Eastbourne, Worthing, Tunbridge Wells (11th June — that’s tonight!), and of course Brighton.
The summer’s gigs are as follows, with more in the pipeline.
- Monday 11th June — The Forum, Tunbridge Wells
- Thursday 14th June — Pavilion Tavern, Brighton
- Friday 22nd June — Minnesota Jax, Eastbourne
- Thursday 28th June — Cable Club, Pressure Point, Brighton
- Tuesday 17th July — Funktion Rooms, Eastbourne
- Thursday 9th August — Pavilion Tavern, Brighton
- Wednesday 22nd August — The Oh! Bar, Camden
- Friday 24th August — The Rest Bar, Worthing
- Wednesday 29th August — Rock Riot at the Prince Albert, Brighton
Also, you can catch Left Hand Red’s chums, Go Johnny Go, on June’s Brighton Waves. Their raw and raucous yet incredibly catchy brand of bluesey rock is the perfect accompaniment to a cold beer and a barbecued hot dog.

It’s all over! The final of the Best of Brighton Bands competition, run by MusoNet, took place last night (Sunday) at the Pressure Point in Brighton, and saw Left Hand Red beaten only by the mighty rock-juggernaut that is Stealbackyourlife.
Although Stealbackyourlife walked away with the spoils, it was an awesome gig all round with three of the bands topping their heat scores in front of a capacity crowd. Oh, and Oli of Go Johnny Go fame also walked away with a special prize of a new guitar!
The scores aren’t currently available, but we’ll post them when they are.

Left Hand Red are one of 16 bands selected to play at the Best of Brighton Bands gigs running through March and April at the Pressure Point. Each gig will be judged in a range of different ways and the band that impresses the most will win a place in the final on Sunday 15th April. Your support will be much appreciated — our heat is taking place on Sunday 8th April (Bank Holiday weekend so no work the next day for most of you!). Anyone who attended Left Hand Red’s recent appearance at the Pav Tav will know that we’re on all time best form so this show is not to be missed!
Tickets are only £1 — yes, £1 — when bought from Badlands Guitars or alternatively, we are selling some, but they’re being snapped up fast, so contact your friendly neighbourhood Left Hand Red type sharpish and they’ll gladly get hold of some for you.
Tickets are also being sold on the door for £2 but last week’s show was a sell out so better make sure you get there early! That’s not all though, tickets double up as a raffle ticket and if you attend the final, you could bag yourself a a brand new J&D Duke 30 electric guitar, rrp £329!!
Also playing on our night will be Your Army, Mono and Stealbackyourlife, so not only will you be getting four bands giving it their all, you get us all for one to two measley quid!
Pressure Point venue doors will be unlocked for the legions of LHR fans at 8PM, make sure you’re there!
For more details on the event including dates and other bands taking part please go to http://www.musonetbrighton.co.uk/.
We’re also playing a warm up gig on Saturday night at the Portland Rock Bar in Hove, so if you can’t get enough of us then come down to that too!!

On Thursday 29th March, we’re back once again to the Pavilion Tavern, Castle Square, Brighton, or the Pav Tav as it’s known to its friends.
The Pav Tav has reverted back to its previous set times, so it will be kicking off around 20:30, and finishing around 22:30.
The best part? Entry is free, drinks are cheap, and we have hired extra security after last month’s stage invasion (i.e. we gave Julian a Kit Kat Chunky if he promised not to let anyone in the back door this time).

Left Hand Red are well in to the swing of 2007, and we’re headlining our first Cable Club of the year.
The gig is on Thursday Mar 15th, takes place at the Pressure Point in Brighton and doors open at 20:00. Also playing are Boxer, The Critical and Mike Lord.
Also, a belated thanks to all those who hung around to watch us at the Pav Tav on the 28th February. The Tav have recently changed the times for bands, so things kicked off an hour later than previous gigs. On top of that, we were bumped up to headliners meaning we didn’t get on until around 10:45!
I’m sure it was worth the wait, though. Not only did you get to hear new song, Nowhere Left to Run, but we also had a, er, special guest during the set finale of Midnight Sun. :)
