No, we haven't been having a loooong hiatus, we've just been lazy with posting gigs on here.

Left Hand Red are playing at the Prince Albert in Brighton as part of the Brighton Live festival.

Also playing are the Dirty Socials and Wood n Juice. It starts at 20:00, and the best part of all is that entry is free!

Amy MacDonald,she did a good version of Mr Brite side. The killers were very good also,the editors were realy good live,I don't relay like much of their album but it's a grower.

Apart from all the mud,rain and setting off at 10.30am in the morning and getting there eight hours later,getting sun burnt and pissed...It was a great weekend.

Edit: I thought I was the only one that was posting on here. Where is everyone these days?

We're back in the Capital for a date at the Hope & Anchor in Islington, N1. The Hope & Anchor has played host to an impressive list of acts, including The Cooper Temple Clause, Hope of the States, The Futureheads and Ash in more recents years, and some quite legendary ones in decades past.

Tickets are £5/£4.50, doors are at 20:30, and also on the bill are Stress, The Drunken Gentleman and Jason Lipman.

Almost three-hundred bands were whittled down to sixteen for the heats, and after four weeks, only four remained.

The final of the Best of Brighton Bands competition took place at the Pressure Point last, night and we improved on our heat score to come second! The clear winners were Stealbackyourlife, with Your Army third and The Reveals fourth.

Thanks to everyone who came to support us during the heat and in the final -- you made a big difference! :)

The Good, The Bad & The Queen (Maybe this is the album that earns Damon Albarn "Creative Genius" status. A sweeping lo-fi piece of work, which has ol' Damo turning out the vocal performance of his life and returning to his more sensitive sounding side. He really isn't just the bloke who was once in a britpop band that weren't quite as popular or successful as Oasis)

Kings Of Leon - Because Of The Times (Third offering from the folically-loaded Followhills, it's their best yet. A much more guitar-edged affair, with a lot less empahasis on the bluegrass-rock side of things, this shows a band brimming with ideas and not afraid to change things round a bit. Charmer and On Call are particularly special)

Frank Turner - Sleep Is For The Week (Remember Million Dead? If not, they were an exciting At The Drive-In-esque emo rock band from a few years ago, perhaps a tad like the rather impressive Stealbackyourlife who LHR are up against again this Sunday night. Anyway, this guy used to front Million Dead, but he's now on his Jack Jones and has conjured up a folk-rock album that lends itself quite a bit to Bright Eyes. Enjoyable.)

We're taking part in heat 4 of the Best of Brighton Bands competition, which takes place at the good old Pressure Point on Sunday 8th April (Easter Sunday).

Entry is £2 or only £1 if you buy your ticket in advance from Badlands Guitars on Preston Road, Brighton. Not only that, your ticket enters you in to a raffle to win a guitar. Nice!

It kicks off around 20:00, and in the heat are Mono, Your Army and Stealbackyourlife.

Sometimes musical acts just disapper in to the ether. Sometimes they're dropped by their label and struggle to bring out any high profile releases, other times they split up and forget to tell anyone. Some times they're discovered running fast food stands in Brighton town centre.
